Job summary

Apple Bank for Savings in the Bronx (Fordham Road) seeks a Universal Banker Supervisor to act as a single point of contact for customers, delivering prompt, courteous service and efficient processing of transactions.

The role combines supervision, teller and customer service responsibilities, with duties in branch sales, new account openings, and problem resolution to support management and overall branch performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of retail banking experience in Teller/Customer Service.
• 1–2 years of bank supervisory experience in teller or platform; cross-training preferred.
• General understanding of banking operations (risk, compliance, fraud, loss).
• Experience in fostering and developing strong customer relationships.
• Able to develop and maintain knowledge of banking products and services.
• Willingness to cross-train in other branch functions.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by engaging clients in a friendly, professional manner.
• Explain features and disclosures of Apple Bank products and services.
• Oversee branch operations in the absence of branch management.
• Approve or override transactions with due diligence to minimize risk.
• Train and mentor tellers and Universal Bankers; ensure CIP and BSA compliance.
• Identify customer needs and refer to licensed representatives when appropriate.
• Open/close vaults and assist with branch operations and customer area.
