Job summary

Berkeley Repertory Theatre is seeking part-time Box Office Agents to provide courteous customer service to patrons at the Downtown Berkeley box office. The role requires consistent availability for 3–4 full shifts per week, including Saturdays and Sundays, with some holiday coverage.

Compensation is $23.50 per hour, with schedule Tuesday–Sunday, 11:30 am–7:15 pm or 8:15 pm shifts. The box office operates year-round for subscriptions and events; candidates should have strong communication skills

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• English fluency is required.
• Experience in hospitality or retail helpful.
• Comfort speaking on the phone and performing cold calls.
• Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in all patron interactions.
• Answer incoming calls and assist walk-up patrons.
• Sell, exchange, and return tickets for performances.
• Distribute will call tickets to patrons attending the day’s performances.
• Handle checks and credit card transactions following procedures.
• Maintain daily batch reports and patron records in Tessitura.
• Stay up to date with ticketing policies and subscription options.
• Assist with general office tasks and inventory.
