The Colburn School in Los Angeles is seeking a Box Office Manager to build and lead a new ticketing operation as it opens its expanded facilities. You will administer Spektrix, manage box office policies, and ensure an exceptional audience experience across venues and rental events.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in ticketing or box office leadership, strong customer service, and proficiency with enterprise ticketing systems. This onsite role offers solid compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience managing ticketing, box office operations, or audience services within a multi-venue performing arts organization, university, or similar venues complex.
  • Experience administering an enterprise‑level ticketing platform such as Spektrix, Tessitura, Ticketmaster, AudienceView, PatronManager, or a comparable system.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling staff in a customer service or ticketing environment.
  • Basic understanding of box office reporting, sales tracking, reconciliation, and financial procedures.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Evenings, weekends, and holiday work hours required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and administer box office operations for all Colburn venues and offsite venues as needed.
  • Establish and enforce box office policies and procedures.
  • Build a customer‑served focused team dedicated to a welcoming audience experience.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate ticket office staff.
  • Supervise ticket transactions and process exchanges and group sales.
  • Serve as primary box office contact for customer service issues and resolve concerns promptly.
  • Coordinate with Events and Facilities to support rental events.
  • Manage internal ticket buys and credentialing workflows.
  • Support ticket pricing strategies and marketing initiatives.
