• Process phone and in-person ticket sales using computer-based ticketing software for live performances, films, lectures, and events.
• Efficiently handle cash and card transactions.
• Resolve ticket issues and answer guest inquiries regarding events and promotions.
• Organize and distribute will-call tickets at performance time.
• Assist with compiling sales reports and mailing lists.
• Provide ushering assistance at performance times as needed.
• Assist with emergency situations and escort staff/guests as assigned.

Responsibilities

Box Office Associates interact with museum visitors and play an important role in providing an excellent customer service experience.

Responsibilities Include

• Process phone and in-person ticket sales using computer-based ticketing software for live performances, films, lectures, and special events.
• Efficiently handle cash and card transactions.
• Ability to problem-solve ticket issues as needed.
• Answer guest inquiries whilst providing information on all ticketed events, prices, and special promotions.
• Organize and distribute “will-call” tickets at performance time.
• Assist with compiling sales reports and mailing lists.
• Assist with ushering as needed at performance times.

As Needed

• Assists with emergency situations by communicating with the appropriate point of contact.
• Escorting staff and guests as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to:
  • Use Microsoft 365 and a ticketing system.
  • Accurately handle payment types.
  • Stand and sit for long periods.
  • Ascend/descend stairs.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience or knowledge of web-based computer ticketing systems such as Tessitura
• Experience with Microsoft 365
• Verbal fluency in additional language(s) besides English
• Knowledge of theatre etiquette and procedures

Anticipated Salary Range

$15.45 per hour (24 hours per week)

Considerations

• This is an ongoing OPS/Part-Time job
• This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check to include fingerprinting.
• Work Location: Sarasota, FL
• Employees are required to adhere to the business dress standards.

Working Hours

• Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM.
• This may include working evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of The Ringling and the performance schedule.
