Job summary

The Melrose Georgetown Hotel in Washington, DC is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee all hotel systems, PM programs, and safety compliance at a luxury boutique property. You will lead the engineering team, manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building construction tasks, and coordinate with the General Manager to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel engineering with HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building construction.
• Read and interpret drawings, diagrams and blueprints; read test equipment and measurements.
• Strong business communication skills, verbal and written.
• Flexible to work varying schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hotel systems to meet operational standards of the Engineering Department.
• Conduct walk-throughs and assess maintenance and operation of structure, systems and equipment.
• Oversee preventive maintenance program for rooms and public areas and keep records updated.
• Collaborate with hotel management and General Manager; hire, train, supervise, coach and counsel associates.
• Ensure grounds are maintained to provide a great arrival experience and enforce safety policies.
