Job summary

The Melrose Georgetown Hotel in Washington, DC seeks a Chief Engineer to lead all engineering operations and ensure the property runs smoothly. You will supervise HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems, drive preventive maintenance, and partner with the General Manager to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

Strong leadership, clear communication, and hands-on problem solving are essential. This full-time, on-site role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel engineering experience required with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen systems.
• Ability to read drawings, diagrams, and blueprints and interpret test equipment.
• Strong verbal and written business communication skills.
• Flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Passion for guest experiences and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hotel systems to meet operational standards.
• Conduct maintenance walk-throughs of building and equipment.
• Oversee preventive maintenance for Rooms and Public Areas.
• Hire, train, supervise, coach, and counsel associates.
• Ensure safety policies and OSHA HazCom compliance.
