Job summary

The Melrose Georgetown Hotel in Washington, DC seeks a Chief Engineer to maintain all hotel systems and infrastructure. You will lead the engineering team, schedule preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and operational standards across rooms and public spaces.

Ideal candidates bring strong HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building construction knowledge, plus the ability to read blueprints and communicate effectively with leadership.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel engineering experience required, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen and general building construction.
• Vocational training, associate's degree, certification and/or apprenticeship in one or more area; state certification or licensure where required.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, diagrams and blue prints. Read and understand test equipment and measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Make sure the hotel is in great working order and meet operational standards for the Engineering Department.
• Conduct walk-throughs and assess maintenance and operation of the hotel structure, systems and equipment.
• Responsible for Preventive Maintenance Program for Rooms and Public Areas and keep records updated.
• Collaborate with hotel management and General Manager.
• Hire, train, supervise, coach and counsel associates, including managers.
