Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge, make decisions, and stay calm under stress.

• Combination of general experience and education may be used to qualify.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at/beside borders using surveillance and night-vision equipment.
• Interpret tracks, marks and evidence of illegal entry; conduct farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets to fulfill the USBP mission.
