U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) invites qualified individuals to join as Border Patrol Agents (BPA). CBP offers entry and mid-level career opportunities at GL-5 to GS-11 levels, with promotion potential and competitive benefits.

This federal role supports securing the border, enforcing immigration and customs laws, and protecting the United States. Selected candidates may qualify through education or relevant public safety experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of immigration and nationality law.
• Knowledge of the use of force policy.
• Knowledge of criminal law and procedure.
• Skill in using physical techniques (self-defense, baton, OC spray).
• Skill in using firearms.

Responsabilités

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws; inspecting documents and possessions.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers.
• Interpreting and following tracks and evidence of illegal entry.
• Performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling boundaries and waterways using various government assets.
