Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) across various grades. This full-time role offers significant base pay, strong federal benefits, and retention incentives.

Duty locations include multiple U.S. sectors with potential prioritization for incentivized postings. Qualifications require either education or related public-safety experience; advancement opportunities to GS-12 are noted with promotion potential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of immigration and nationality law and related regulations.
• Familiarity with use-of-force policy and firearm procedures.
• Understanding of criminal law and procedure.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented individuals and smugglers near borders using surveillance and field assets.
• Follow tracks and clues to identify illegal entry or contraband; perform patrols and checks.
• Transport and patrol duties across borders using various vehicles and equipment.
