U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seeks Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) to join a large federal law enforcement team. The role supports protecting the United States by enforcing immigration and customs laws and by safeguarding borders with duty locations nationwide.

New BPAs receive comprehensive academy training and can qualify for incentive programs. Roles cover entry to mid-level positions with competitive federal compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience or education allow eligibility for GL-5/7/9/11 levels in CBP Border Patrol work.
• Bachelor’s degree or completion of a full four-year course of study from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of experience and education may qualify for higher grades.

Responsabilités

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws; inspect documents and possessions.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-vision equipment.
• Interpret tracks, marks and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets.
