Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seeks Border Patrol Agents (BPA) to join a large federal law enforcement workforce. The role offers full-time positions with base pay, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career advancement and incentives.

New BPAs may receive recruitment incentives up to $20,000 and retention incentives up to $30,000, with prioritized locations available and extensive training at the CBP Academy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Specialized law enforcement training or equivalent experience may qualify for higher grades.
• Combination of experience and education considered for higher grades.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration violations and inspect documents to verify citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at borders using surveillance and night operations.
• Interpret physical evidence of illegal entry and conduct checks on farms, buildings, traffic, and transportation.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets.
• Adhere to firearms and use-of-force policies while performing duties and documenting investigations.
