Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking Border Patrol Agents to join the Federal Law Enforcement Officer corps. Roles include entry and mid-level positions with ongoing training, promotions, and eligibility for incentives. Duty locations span multiple sectors within the United States.

Selected BPAs will undergo intensive academy training, manage field operations, and contribute to national security while safeguarding borders and facilitating lawful travel and trade.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating leadership, decision making, and composure in stressful situations.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of experience and education can qualify for higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violations and inspecting documents.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpreting tracks and other evidence of illegal entry; performing checks and patrols.
• Patrolling borders and waterways using government assets for mission accomplishment.
