Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) across several duty locations in the United States.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating leadership, sound decision-making, and composure under stress.
• Bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course of study from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of general work experience AND successfully completed college education.
• For GL-7: one year of specialized experience showing judgment in law enforcement.
• Knowledge of immigration and national law, use of force, criminal law, and firearms (KSAOs).

Responsibilities

• Detect immigration and customs violations and inspect documents.
• Observe and apprehend undocumented individuals and smugglers near borders.
• Interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry.
• Perform farm, building, traffic and city checks and patrols.
• Patrol the international boundary and waterways using diverse government assets.
