Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) invites applications for Border Patrol Agent (BPA). This federal role offers excellent base pay, comprehensive benefits, and job stability, with incentives up to $50,000 over time for recruitment and retention.

Training is provided at the Academy, with opportunities to serve across multiple duty locations within the United States. Selected BPAs may be eligible for up to $20,000 in recruitment incentives and up to $30,000 in additional incentives

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to learn regulations and make sound decisions.
• Education Substitution: bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course of study.
• Combination of Experience and Education may apply as noted in the announcement.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and custom laws.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpreting tracks and evidence of illegal entry.
• Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using diverse assets.
