Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-vision equipment.
• Interpreting tracks, marks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband; performing farm, building, traffic, city and transportation checks.
• Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using government assets (vehicles, horses, vessels, ATVs, etc.).
• Engaging in enforcement duties to support CBP mission across duty locations.
