Qualifications

• Experience demonstrating the ability to learn regulations, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations.
• A bachelor’s degree or completion of a full four-year course of study from an accredited college or university.
• A combination of general experience and education is acceptable and evaluated via resume and transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws; inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and equipment.
• Interpreting tracks, marks, and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband; performing checks across various routes.
• Patrolling international boundaries and waterways using vehicles, horses, vessels, and other assets to fulfill the USBP mission.
• Located duty locations may differ from initial preferences if needed.
