Job summary

Customs and Border Protection seeks Border Patrol Agent (BPA) personnel to enforce immigration and customs laws. The role involves inspecting documents, questioning individuals, and preventing illegal entry along U.S. borders.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure; or education substitution as described.
• Bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course of study in any field.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-operations.
• Interpreting tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband; performing checks and patrols.
• Patrolling borders and waterways using various assets to fulfill CBP mission.
