Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking Border Patrol Agents to join a large federal law enforcement organization.

The BPA role offers full-time, entry to mid-level opportunities with strong base pay, comprehensive benefits, and recruitment/retention incentives. Duties include detecting and questioning individuals, inspecting documents, preventing illegal entry, patrolling borders and waterways, and utilizing various assets to ensure border security.

Qualifications

• Experience: One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations; OR
• Education substitution: a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR
• Combination of experience and education: combination of general work experience and college education.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders using surveillance and night-vision equipment.
• Interpreting tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband; performing checks and patrols; patrolling borders and waterways with various assets.
