U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) in full-time, entry- and mid-level, where education or past public safety or law enforcement experience may qualify.

CBP offers excellent base pay, federal benefits, job stability, and recruitment/retention incentives. Duties include detecting and questioning potential violators, border surveillance, inspections, and patrolling with varied assets to protect the United States.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge and stay composed in stressful situations.
• Ability to learn regulations, methods, and procedures through training and on-the-job instruction.
• Ability to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and document review.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal areas using diverse assets.
