U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is recruiting Border Patrol Agents to join a large federal law enforcement workforce. The BPA role combines patrol duties with immigration and border enforcement responsibilities, offering competitive base pay and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and remain calm in stressful situations.
• Education substitution: a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree.
• Combination of experience and education will be evaluated via resume and transcripts submitted with the application.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of immigration and customs violations and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders using various assets and surveillance.
• Interpreting evidence of illegal entry and contraband; performing checks and patrols to secure the border.
• Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways to accomplish the CBP mission.
