U.S. Customs and Border Protection is recruiting Border Patrol Agents (BPA) for full-time, entry and mid-level positions across multiple duty locations in the United States.

BPAs protect the country, perform inspections, and carry out border enforcement tasks as part of the Federal Law Enforcement Officer community. Salary ranges reflect GL-5 to GS-11 grades with potential advancement to GS-12, plus federal benefits and incentive programs.

Competenze

• Experience: 1 year general work experience that demonstrates ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and learn regulations through training or on-the-job instruction.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree; Education substitution for GL-7/9/11 per criteria.

Mansioni

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of immigration violations and inspecting documents to determine citizenship.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance.
• Interpreting tracks and evidence of illegal entry and contraband.
• Performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks as assigned.
• Patrolling international boundary and coastal waterways using government assets for CBP mission.
