Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) invites applications for Border Patrol Agent (BPA) at entry and mid levels. The position offers full-time work with base pay variations across GL/GS grades, comprehensive federal benefits including health, dental, and retirement plans, and recruitment/retention incentives.

Duty locations nationwide with potential prioritization options. Selected BPAs will perform border and interior enforcement duties, conduct vehicle and foot patrols, inspect documents,

Qualifications

• Experience or education that demonstrates ability to take charge, assess situations, and maintain composure in stressful environments.
• Basic competency in following regulations, procedures, and documentation.
• Ability to gather and interpret information through questioning and observation.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration or customs violations.
• Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or policy compliance.
• Pursue and apprehend undocumented individuals and contraband near borders.
• Perform patrols and checks using diverse assets to support the CBP mission.
