Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) across entry to mid-level roles with strong federal benefits and stable career paths. Positions offer base pay at GL/GS levels, with incentives to recruit and retain talent in prioritized locations.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge and stay composed in stressful situations; learn regulations and procedures; gather concise information.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree; OR
• Combination of experience and education can qualify you for the role.

Responsibilities

• Detect individuals suspected of immigration or customs violations and inspect documents to verify citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using patrol methods and surveillance tools.
• Interpret tracks and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband; perform various checks across locations and transportation modes.
• Patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways using a range of government assets to fulfill CBP mission.
• The above experience will support eligibility for various GL/GS grade levels as described.
