Job summary

Books-A-Million is seeking a Keyholder to step into store leadership as a limited Manager On Duty, guiding your category team, maintaining security, and ensuring shifts run to standard. This role is based in one of our retail store locations and is ideal for booksellers ready to grow into leadership.

You will lead service that turns visits into memorable experiences, train associates, manage category performance, and keep shelves inviting.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a supervisor role preferred.
• Successful completion of background screenings required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift as a limited Manager On Duty, ensuring store operations run to standard.
• Own category results by driving sales and customer service.
• Maintain store security and follow loss prevention standards.
• Train and develop Associates within your category.
• Coordinate daily briefings and cross-training to cover store needs.
• Deliver warm, genuine customer service and resolve issues.
• Keep shelves inviting and store operations running smoothly.
• Handle behind-the-scenes tasks to support the team and store.
