Job summary

Books-A-Million is seeking a Bookseller to deliver exceptional customer service and knowledgeable assistance about books and merchandise. You will greet customers, assist with questions and orders, and operate the register to ensure smooth checkout experiences.

The role includes promoting membership programs and educator initiatives, maintaining store presentation, and supporting merchandising and inventory tasks as needed. A positive, team‑oriented attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years old or older.
• Successful completion of all required background screenings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills preferred.
• Ability to multi-task in a retail environment.
• Previous retail sales experience is a plus.
• Computer and cash register skills required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide high level of customer service.
• Assist customers with questions and orders; handle cashier duties.
• Promote memberships and education programs.
• Balance cash drawer according to policy.
• Stock and merchandise the sales floor per guidelines.
• Maintain store cleanliness and assist in other departments as needed.
