Job summary

Books-A-Million's 2nd & Charles store in Harrisburg seeks a customer-focused associate to provide friendly service, assist customers, and manage everyday sales at the register. You will be knowledgeable about books and merchandise and actively help shoppers to create an outstanding experience.

The role emphasizes greeting customers, performing sales, merchandising, and housekeeping tasks, while adhering to loss-prevention standards and supporting other store functions as needed.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of all background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, answer questions and assist with orders; operate cashiering efficiently.
• Sell products and participate in program initiatives (Magazine, Text 2 Mobile, Educator programs).
• Stock shelves and merchandise displays according to guidelines and timelines.
• Restock, clean, and recover the sales floor during shifts; perform housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Protect assets by following loss prevention standards and conducting transactions with integrity.
• Support other departments such as buyback, receiving shipments, inventory, and fixture maintenance.
