Job summary

Books-A-Million is seeking a 2nd & Charles Associate to deliver exceptional customer service, assist customers, and perform cashiering. You will help with product placement, store maintenance, and participate in loss prevention and various store operations. Prior retail experience is a plus.

The role emphasizes friendly customer interactions, knowledge of books, and teamwork within a busy bookstore environment. The position is based in a Michigan store with on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of all background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provides customers with the highest level of customer service by greeting each customer, communicating and assisting customers with questions and orders, and efficient cashiering.
• Sell products and promote POS initiatives (Magazine program, Text 2 Mobile Program, Educator programs, and other company-sponsored programs).
• Delivers and places product on the sales floor in accordance with merchandising guidelines and timelines.
• Recovers the sales floor during each shift, including resetting displays and housekeeping tasks as required.
• Protects company assets by adhering to all loss prevention standards and acting with integrity in all transactions.
• Performs other duties including assisting in other departments (buyback, receiving shipments, small fixture assembly and maintenance, inventory, etc.).
