Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll, and client services. You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare financial statements while supporting client retention and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications, or ability to obtain them.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP/GAAP procedures.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations.
• Discretion with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s, and calculate tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and growth opportunities.
