Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll and client service. You will post transactions, reconcile accounts and generate financial statements to support clients and the franchise network.

The role requires 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, knowledge of GAAP, and the ability to obtain national bookkeeping certifications. Prior experience with Xero is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping certifications or ability to obtain them.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and procedures.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Support client retention and growth opportunities.
