Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. in Minnesota seeks an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver exceptional bookkeeping, payroll and client service for our communities.

You’ll post transactions, reconcile ledgers, generate financial statements, and prepare payroll including 1099s and W-2s, while maintaining confidentiality and strong attention to detail. Join a high-performing team and grow with our franchise network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications or ability to obtain them.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP & procedures.
• Ability to interpret and apply instructions, policies and regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality with professionalism.
• Analytical skills and eye for detail.
• Strong organization and time-management skills; multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
