Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper in Minnesota to deliver precise bookkeeping, payroll and client service. You’ll be integral to supporting our brand mission to help communities thrive.

You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, generate statements, process payroll and handle 1099s/W-2s, while maintaining confidentiality and delivering accurate, timely financial information to clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or the ability to obtain certifications.
• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP and procedures.
• Ability to interpret and apply instructions, policies and regulations.
• Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Analytical skills and an eye for details.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
