Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper in Preston, MN to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll, and client service for our local clients.

You will post financial transactions, reconcile accounts, generate statements, process payroll, and handle 1099s and W-2s while maintaining confidentiality and strong attention to detail. Collaboration with clients and vendors is essential, with opportunities to support client growth.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations
• Confidential information handling with professionalism
• Analytical and detail-oriented
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to multitask

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers
• Reconcile and balance accounts
• Generate and analyze financial statements
• Prepare and process payroll
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities
