H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll and client service for our Michigan clients. You will post transactions, reconcile ledgers and prepare financial statements while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and growth opportunities.
