American Recruiters in Florida is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a fast-growing 3PL operation with high-volume transactions. You will learn our processes and take on more, including purchasing and vendor cost analysis, as you grow into the role.

This position offers on-site work in Lutz, FL with ownership of responsibilities and a family-owned culture that values results and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience with QuickBooks Online and Excel.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
• An analytical mindset — when a number looks off, investigate it until you know why.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight.
• Strong communication skills to explain financial findings clearly.
• Experience with shipping carrier invoices, purchasing, or vendor management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, timely financial records and manage day-to-day bookkeeping.
• Process invoices, vendor payments, and customer payments.
• Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end accounting processes and supporting documentation.
• Support management and outside accounting professionals with requested information and reporting.
• Audit shipping carrier invoices against charges recorded in company systems, comparing what carriers charge us against what we bill customers to catch discrepancies.
• Review carrier billing adjustments and investigate questionable or unexplained charges.
• Audit hours submitted by our temp staffing services against what was actually approved by management, making sure we're billed accurately.
• Flag recurring billing issues and trends, and work with other departments to get them corrected going forward.
