Job summary

About the role

The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily accounting transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting the organization's financial operations. This role ensures timely and accurate recording of transactions, assists with financial reporting, and helps maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

What you'll do
  • Record and maintain financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Process invoices, payments, deposits, and expense reports.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll record maintenance.
  • Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
  • Support audits by providing requested documentation and records.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
  • Collaborate with management and accountants as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Certified Bookkeeper (CB) certification or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related financial experience.
  • Experience with payroll administration.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Knowledge of tax reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in Property Management accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software. Rent Manager preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
