Job Details: The Accounting department at Mercer University is searching for a Bookkeeper for the Macon, Georgia campus.
The Bookkeeper position in the Grants Accounting Office plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of the university. This position manages daily and annual accounting entries, oversees time and effort reporting, reconciles bank accounts and coordinates campus-wide space studies and surveys. This position works independently and should prioritize work tasks to meet various deadlines. This position is under the direct supervision of the Director of Grants Accounting and work is reviewed reguarly.
A high school diploma/GED and three years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in higher education or non-profit setting and/or bank teller experience, are required. Candidates who have an understanding in grant/contract management, sales tax regulations and fund accounting principles are preferred.
