Job summary

Amgen seeks a District Sales Manager to act as the liaison to medical professionals, delivering clinical knowledge of Amgen products. The role drives sales in a multi-territory district with cross-functional collaboration and career development opportunities.

You will lead district teams, hire and coach staff, and ensure training compliance while aligning with market strategies and performance targets, within a flexible work model.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree with 2 years of Sales/Marketing experience OR Master’s with 6 years OR Bachelor’s with 8 years OR Associate’s with 10 years plus 2 years of leadership experience.
• Three+ years of specialty sales experience preferred.
• Experience in biologics, buy and bill model, and strong coaching ability.

Responsibilities

• Track the progress of marketing messages and programs.
• Provide feedback to district teams on marketing, allocation, monitoring, and resources.
• Manage district teams to maximize performance and meet sales and budget targets.
• Screen, interview, and hire candidates.
• Ensure compliance with training.
• Demonstrate coaching and development for future growth.
• Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews and competency assessments.
• Coordinate with district and cross‑functional teams (Marketing, Finance, other BUs).
• Share best practices with direct reports and peers.
• Coordinate and/or participate in cluster teams.
• Conduct district sales meetings to guide districts.
• Develop local Opinion Leader relationships to achieve aligned objectives.
