Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking an experienced technician to assemble, inspect, and repair boilers, tanks, and pressure vessels on-site in Texas. You will interpret blueprints, use power and hand tools, and perform precision measurements while adhering to strict safety standards.

Responsibilities include rigging, aligning structures, welding or bolting components, and testing assemblies for leaks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field.
• Familiarity with concepts, practices, and procedures; follow instructions under supervision.
• Ability to read plans/blueprints and work with measured data.
• Adheres to safety rules and project guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Locate reference points for columns or plates using measurement tools.
• Coordinate rigging; signal crane operator to lift components.
• Align structures to boiler frames using plumb bobs and levels.
• Hammer, flame-cut, file and grind irregular edges for fitting edges.
• Bolt or weld structures and sections to frame.
• Install components such as drums, headers, and clamps; connect fittings.
• Test assemblies by pumping water or gas and checking for leaks.
• Repair boilers or tanks in the field by replacing damaged sections.
• Follow all safety rules and perform additional duties as needed.
