Job summary

Wood is seeking skilled boilermakers to assemble and repair boilers, tanks, and pressure vessels in field and shop settings. You will use power tools, rigging equipment and hand tools to follow specifications and ensure safe, compliant installations.

The role involves reading plans, aligning sections, welding and bolting components, testing assembled vessels, and performing minor maintenance while strictly observing safety rules. Travel to sites may be required.

• Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.
• Plan work and select proper tools.
• Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects.
• Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark reference points for foundations and align with straight edges and instruments.
• Attach rigging or signal crane operator to lift components to position.
• Align structures or plates using plumb bobs, levels, wedges, and turnbuckles.
• Hammers, flame-cut, file and grind edges for proper fitting.
• Bolt or arc-weld components and position drums and headers in place.
• Install water tubes and expand ends to drums using a tube expander.
