Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services in Plaquemine, LA is seeking an experienced boilermaker/fitter to assemble, repair and align boilers, tanks and pressure vessels according to blueprints.

The role requires reading drawings, cutting and fitting components with power tools, welding, and testing assembled units for leaks. You will work at heights and follow safety rules while supporting maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related field experience preferred.
• Knowledge of shop mathematics and measurement techniques.
• Ability to read plans/drawings and interpret specifications.
• Capability to work with precision within tight tolerances.
• Experience planning work and selecting proper tools.
• Comfort working at heights and in physical environments.

Responsibilities

• Locate reference points and set up layouts from plans.
• Assemble and align boiler frames, tanks and vessels.
• Torch cutting, filing and fitting to meet drawings.
• Weld or bolt structures and sections as required.
• Operate hand tools and power tools to install components.
• Inspect for leaks and perform basic testing of assemblies.
• Maintain safety practices and follow project rules.
• Assist in minor maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed.
