Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services in Texas seeks a Certified Journeyman capable of assembling, inspecting, and repairing boilers, tanks, and pressure vessels per blueprints and specifications. The role includes rigging, alignment, welding, and test inspections to ensure safe operation.

Proficiency with power and hand tools, torch use, and a strong safety mindset is essential. A high school diploma or equivalent is expected, with prior field experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with shop mathematics and measurement.
• Ability to visualize layouts from plans and drawings.
• Familiarity with rigging and signaling crane operators.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, analyze for defects, and repair boilers, tanks, vats and pressure vessels per blueprints.
• Locate reference points, use straight edge, squares, transit and tape for alignment.
• Attach rigging and signal crane operators for lifts.
• Align structures to frame and install components.
• Weld, bolt, or bolt-weld sections as required.
• Perform minor maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Test assembled vessels and inspect for leaks.
