Job summary

Appsierra Group is seeking skilled boilermaker/structural fabricator for Houston, TX, performing field assembly and maintenance on boilers and tanks. You will locate points, align sections, and coordinate crane operations to fit components accurately.

Role requires 3+ years of craft experience, ability to read instructions, and a valid TWIC card. Safety compliance and ability to work independently are essential for success in this site-based position.

Qualifications

3+ years and above documented field experience in a chosen craft discipline with the ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan, and perform work activities independently. Must have a valid TWIC card

Responsibilities

Locates and marks reference points for columns or plates on the foundation using a transit level, straight edge, squares, transit, and measuring tape.
Attaches rigging or signals the crane operator to lift components to the specified position.
Aligns structures or plate sections to assemble the boiler frame, tanks, or vats using plumb bobs, levels, wedges, dogs, or turnbuckles.
Hammers, flame cuts, and file grinds irregular edges of sections or structural parts to facilitate fitting edges together.
Bolts or arc-welds structures and sections together. Positions drums and headers into supports or bolts or welds supports to the frame.
Line the firebox with refractory brick and blocks.
May fabricate parts such as stacks, uptakes, and chutes to adapt the boiler to the premises in which it is installed.
Flame cutting and knowledge of torch use.
Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
