Job summary

Wood PLC is seeking skilled tradespeople to support boiler and vessel assembly, alignment, and field repairs in Texas. The role involves precision layout, rigging coordination, welding or bolting, and tube/drum assembly with tube expanders.

Safety and adherence to project rules are essential for success. Responsibilities include cutting and fitting parts, installing manholes, gauges, and water connections, and assisting in leak testing of vessels.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark reference points for foundations and align using measurement tools.
• Attach rigging and signal crane operator to position components.
• Align structures to boiler frames using plumb bobs, levels, wedges, dogs or turnbuckles.
• Flame-cut, file or grind edges for proper fitting of sections.
• Bolt or weld structures and install components to frame.
• Align tubes, connect and expand ends to drums and headers with a tube expander.
• Bolt or weld casing sections and other fabricated parts to frame.
• Install manholes, valves, gauges and water connections in drums.
• Signal crane operator during lifts and assist in testing vessels for leaks.
• Perform minor maintenance or cleaning with tools.
• Repair boilers or tanks in the field by replacing sections and tubes.
• Fabricate parts to adapt boiler to on-site premises.
• Observe safety and project rules.
