Job summary

Wood is seeking a skilled boilermaker/fabricator in the United States to assemble and repair boilers, tanks, and related pressure vessels. You will use power tools, rigging equipment, and hand tools to fit sections, align frames, and test assemblies.

Responsibilities include field repairs, welding, bolting, and ensuring safety standards. Candidates should be comfortable working at heights and following precise specifications.

Qualifications

• Must work within precise limits and accuracy.
• Strong shop math and problem-solving skills.
• Plan work and select proper tools.
• Able to visualize 3D from plans/drawings.
• Make decisions based on measurable criteria.

Responsibilities

• Locates reference points for foundation or plates on foundation and aligns components.
• Directs crane operator to lift components to specified position.
• Aligns boiler frames, tanks or vats using plumb bobs, levels, and wedges.
• Performs flame cutting, grinding, and edge fitting for assembly.
• Bolts or welds structures and sections to form frames and supports.
• Connects water tubes and expands ends to drums and headers.
• Inspects and tests vessels by filling with water or gas to check for leaks.
• Performs field repairs by removing defective sections and replacing with new parts.
• Follows safety rules and project guidelines at all times.
