Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a skilled Boilermaker to construct, assemble, maintain, and repair stationary boilers and boiler house auxiliaries on industrial sites across the U.S.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, inspecting vessels for defects, performing welds, installing fittings, and aligning heavy components for on-site assembly. Requires NCCER Boilermaker certification, a valid driver's license, and TWIC. 3–5 years journeyman experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: no minimum education requirements.
• Certification/License: NCCER Boilermaker certification, a Valid Driver’s License and TWIC Card

Responsibilities

• Examine boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, or vats to locate defects and plan repairs.
• Bolt or arc welds pressure vessel structures and parts using wrenches or welding equipment.
• Inspect assemblies to locate defects in vessels, tubes, fittings, valves, or controls.
• Repair or replace defective pressure vessel parts using torches, jacks, caulking hammers, or welding equipment.
• Attach rigging and signal crane or hoist operators to lift heavy components into place.
• Bell, bead with power hammers, or weld pressure vessel tube ends to ensure leakproof joints.
• Lay out heavy metal parts and mark bending lines using templates and tools.
• Install manholes, taps, tubes, valves, gauges, or feedwater connections in boilers.
• Study blueprints to determine locations and dimensions of parts.
• Shape seams and edges to fit parts using cutting torches and metalworking machines.
• Position and secure structural parts to boiler frames following blueprints.
