Job summary

Zachry Group in Texas is seeking a Boilermaker to construct iron/steel structures per specifications. You will work with the mechanical department on an industrial new construction plant and related structures.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, fabricating equipment, hoisting with cranes, aligning members, bolting, welding, and ensuring safety. Must meet physical requirements and work at heights.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years’ experience as a Boilermaker Helper, Boilermaker Ironworker or comparable position.
• Ability to read IFC drawings and understand craft specs and cut sheets.
• Able to work at heights and meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools and reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of safe rigging practices and knot theory.
• Willing to perform additional duties as instructed.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope, quantities, and sizes of materials.
• Identify tools required for tasks and safety risks.
• Fabricate equipment per blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Hoist equipment into location via bull rigging or crane.
• Verify alignment of structural-steel members using plumb bobs, lasers, or levels.
• Bolt aligned members for permanent riveting or bolting.
• Assist in positioning and bolting components; cut, bend, and weld iron/steel pieces.
• Maintain safety procedures and use PPE in all conditions.
