Job summary

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a Utility Operator to help run and inspect boiler plant systems under supervision. The role emphasizes safe operation, routine inspections, and maintaining equipment to meet procedures.

You will monitor pumps, valves, air compressors, mixers, and associated devices; read meters, report anomalies, perform ash sampling, and assist with fire watch and overtime during maintenance.

Qualifications

• Three or more months of related experience.
• Mechanical skills for maintenance tasks.
• Ability to read meters and interpret data.
• Willingness to work overtime and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operations of assigned equipment.
• Monitor boiler plant auxiliary equipment such as pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, and electrical devices.
• Accurately read data from meters and gauges to identify malfunctions or abnormal conditions.
• Perform sampling, ash sampling and water treatment as assigned.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Operate mobile equipment when required (Bobcat, steer loader, forklift).
• Assist with furnace operations including refuse-fuel management and fire watch.
• May require extensive overtime during planned or unplanned maintenance.
• Maintain positive working relationships with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, and management.
