Job summary

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking an Assistant Plant Operator to assist in daily plant operation, boiler handling, and equipment monitoring. The role focuses on maintaining safe, efficient operations and adherence to environmental regulations at our facilities.

You will document plant activity, assist with APC and demineralization processes, and cooperate with maintenance to troubleshoot issues while promoting a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
• 2 years working in a power plant operation or 3 years related experience.
• Mechanical skills sufficient to perform varied mechanical tasks such as replacement of shear pins, valve repacking and equipment inspections.
• Knowledge and understanding of the operation of a steam generating power plant.
• Maintain positive work environment by acting and communicating with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Plant Operator in the daily operation and maintenance of the plant in the field.
• Investigate changes in instrument readings and equipment operation; notify Operator or Shift Supervisor of inconsistencies.
• Perform turbine/generator APC inspections and adapt to changing plant conditions to maximize safety and efficiency.
• Maintain logs and write documentation for plant activities and status updates.
• Operate the demineralization system and perform water tests and chemical adjustments.
• Operate APC system with guidance and coordinate with maintenance to troubleshoot issues.
