Job summary

Caswell Developmental Center, part of the North Carolina DHHS system, is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician II to operate and maintain steam boilers, perform rebuilds and preventative maintenance, and assist with building maintenance across the campus.

The role requires comfort with shift work, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in adverse weather. The position is full-time at Caswell Developmental Center in North Carolina.

Qualifications

• One year of progressive experience in mechanical maintenance or boiler operation.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and complete rebuilds, preventive maintenance, emergency failures, tear downs, and inspections on three large centralized boilers.
• Maintain steam plant 24 hours a day to support Caswell residents and staff.
• Assist with structural maintenance on approximately 100 buildings.
• Essential staff role and ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
